Our Story
Silvergirl Handmade is a small, family operation located in Northern Virginia. I am the sole maker (my name is Michele, nice to meet you) and my children are a big part of the design team and the heart and soul of Silvergirl Handmade.
The name Silvergirl is a play on our last name, Silverman. It represents the amazing girl power we achieve everyday by supporting each other on this journey. My kids’ creative energy amazes and inspires me everyday.
We hope you enjoy our bags as much as we enjoy creating them.

Maker, bag lover, sewing artist, mother. Lover of all things fabric.
I am the artist and maker. I focus on quality of craftsmanship and design. I tend to do a lot of free form making, from what I see in my mind, and let the fabrics guide the design. I also make a lot of zipper pouches because you can never have too many tiny pouches to organize all of the things. Sewing and creating are my happy place and working on this with my children is my absolute pride and joy.

I am the fabric picker extraordinaire of Silvergirl Handmade. I love pairing fabrics and colors, trying new combinations, and lean towards the unexpected! I also help with photography and social media.

I focus on the nuts and bolts (or in this case straps and d-rings) of shop operations and shipping. I am very precise so you know things will arrive on time! I also have an eye for detail and love to help with design.
